About the Cemetery District
The Escalon Cemetery District is an Endowment Care Cemetery, as well as a Public Cemetery.
Endowment Care
- Endowment Care is the amount contributed to an endowment care fund.
- Income from the endowment care fund is used to provide continuous care and maintenance at the cemetery. This includes perpetual care, when no more burial sites are available.
- Regular care and maintenance activities can include: grass mowing, trimming around headstones, regrading of graves, watering, caring for trees and bushes, maintenance of water supply systems. etc.
- The minimum dollar amount to be contributed to the endowment care fund is governed by law.
Public Cemetery
- Our Cemetery district provides burial services for those residents within our jurisdictional boundaries and anyone with eligible rights established by the Health & Safety Code Section 8893 & 8894. Call the cemetery office for more information.
